I’ve always a had a particular fondness for Charlotte Tilbury as she is a fellow Alumni of The Glauca Rossi School of Makeup in London where I also initially trained.

Charlotte’s Makeup & Beauty products, including Magic Foundation are consistently recognised as some of the best on the Market by Industry Experts. You only have to look at the plethora of Awards.  So, what is it and who’s it for?

Marketed as a fuller coverage Foundation, it is designed to even the skin tone, cover redness, conceal blemishes & imperfections and give you a flawless semi-matte finish. There are 15 shades to cover all skin tones and it retails at around £30. For those who prefer a more sheer coverage, try Charlotte’s Light Wonder Foundation, at £32.

You can use Charlotte’s online Foundation Finder to help you find the best product and shade, but my advice would always be to buy foundation from a Beauty Counter if possible, where an advisor can match the correct shade to your skin and then see how you find the colour and texture after a day’s wear and in natural lighting.

To be fair, Magic Foundation has received some mixed reviews, mainly from users with dry skin who found it could be patchy or from those who found that the coverage wasn’t as full as they had expected. Just remember, as always, your skin must be properly prepared, moisturised and primed for maximum benefit and that it is designed to be layered until you reach your desired coverage.

A beautiful, natural looking finish that lasts well yet feels weightless on the skin.

Another big plus is that Charlotte Tilbury is a cruelty-free company. They don’t test finished products or ingredients on animals, and neither do their suppliers.

My only criticism is the bottle design. Though aesthetically gorgeous, the top is tricky to attach securely.

All things considered, I would definitely recommend.
